Butter Chicken

This is a take on the classic butter chicken dish, made with boneless, skinless chicken thighs marinated in spices and yogurt, then cooked in a creamy tomato sauce. Perfect for enjoying over rice or with naan!

What you need

tbsp turmeric

tsp salt

tsp garam masala

tsp ground cumin

tsp chili powder

tbsp ginger paste

garlic clove

tbsp lemon juice

cup coconut milk

tbsp ghee butter

onion

tsp curry powder

oz tomato paste

oz chicken stock

tbsp sugar

cup heavy cream
Instructions
Step 1: Season the chicken with turmeric, salt, garam masala, cumin, chili powder, ginger, garlic, lemon juice, and yogurt. Combine well and marinate overnight or for a few hours. Step 2: Heat a large pan on medium heat and add the butter. Step 3: Add the onion and optionally add curry powder. Sauté for about 30 seconds to a minute. Step 4: Add the marinated chicken to the pan and distribute it evenly. Cook for about 4-5 minutes, then turn the chicken pieces over. Step 5: After another 3 minutes, mix together the tomato paste, chicken stock, and sugar, then add to the cooking chicken. Step 6: Add the heavy cream, stirring well. Optionally stir in the saźon. Step 7: Cover the pan and cook on medium-low heat for 20 minutes. Step 8: If desired, stir in green seasoning. Finish cooking uncovered for another 10-15 minutes to thicken the sauce, stirring occasionally. Step 9: Garnish with cream and cilantro, and serve with white rice and/or naan.View original recipe
